Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about remote video production with Hero Network.

About Hero Network

What is Hero Network?

A complete remote video production platform — not just a recorder. We handle the full workflow: recording → asset management → professional editing → delivery. You get finished videos without managing freelancers or spending hours in editing software.

Isn't this just another video recorder like Zoom or Riverside?

No. Zoom and Riverside stop at recording. Hero Network replaces your entire fragmented workflow:

  • Guest recording (no app required)
  • Smart Library for asset management
  • Professional human editing ($99/project)
  • In-platform review and revisions
  • Final delivery

One platform replaces Zoom + Dropbox + freelance editors + project management.

Who is Hero Network for?

Agencies and content teams producing video on retainer. You're a fit if you manage multiple clients who need monthly video, want to scale without hiring editors, or are currently duct-taping Zoom, Dropbox, and freelancers together.

Not for: One-off high-production commercials or scripted campaigns requiring on-site crews.

Can mobile phone video actually look professional?

Yes. Modern smartphones shoot 4K. The professional polish comes from editing — cuts, pacing, audio cleanup, color correction, captions — not the camera. Most viewers can't tell the difference between well-edited mobile footage and DSLR footage.

How It Works

Does the Guest need to install anything?

No. Guests get a link via email or SMS, open it in their mobile browser, and record. No download, no account, no technical setup. That's why our client completion rate is 87% vs. 23% for DIY file requests.

What's included in the $99 editing fee?

Everything for one project — full-length episode, social clips, vertical shorts (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), or any combination. Editing covers cuts, transitions, audio cleanup, color correction, caption burn-in, lower thirds, and B-roll insertion from your Smart Library.

Not included: Custom motion graphics, animation, or VFX.

How long does editing take?

3–5 business days standard. Rush turnaround available at additional cost.

Pricing & Plans

What's included in the $79/month?

  • 10 hours of recording
  • 250GB storage
  • Unlimited projects and clients
  • Smart Library (asset management)
  • Scheduling, guest invitations, status tracking, in-platform review

Editing is $99/project, separate from the subscription.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. 14-day free trial with full platform access. After onboarding, you also get a $99 editing credit — one project professionally edited free. Try the complete workflow before paying anything.

What is Founder Pricing?

$79/month locked in forever. For early adopters who sign up during the Founder Pricing window. This rate never increases for you, as long as you maintain an active subscription.

Is there a contract?

No. Month-to-month. Cancel anytime. Founder Pricing locks your rate for life while your subscription stays active.

How many videos can I produce per month?

Unlimited projects. The only constraint is the 10-hour monthly recording cap, not project count. Most agencies produce 8–15 videos per month on the $79 plan.

Comparisons & Getting Started

How does this compare to a typical agency stack?

Typical stack: Zoom ($15–22/mo) + Dropbox ($10–20/mo) + Frame.io ($15–25/mo) + freelance editor ($300–500/project) + PM tool ($10–25/mo) + hours of coordination.

Hero Network: $79/mo platform + $99/project editing. One workflow, no tool-switching. Time per video drops from 6–8 hours to 30–45 minutes.

How is this different from Descript?

Descript is DIY editing — you do the work in their software. Hero Network is done-for-you editing — you submit a brief, professional editors handle everything. Your time: 30–45 minutes vs. 6–8 hours.

How is this different from Riverside?

Riverside is recording only. After that, you're on your own. Hero Network is full production: recording + Smart Library + professional editing + delivery. One workflow from capture to finished video.

How do I get started?

  1. Sign up for free trial
  2. Complete onboarding — create your first Client, upload brand assets, create a Project
  3. Send your first Guest link
  4. Submit for editing when recording is done
  5. Review and download your finished video
